What makes a haus a home? For many, it’s a pet. Or laughing children. Maybe even a 15-person Jacuzzi. But at ThinkHaus, the one thing that symbolizes “Welcome to our home” is the garden gnome.

Did you know that the first gnome was created and sold in 1884 by German sculptor and potter Phillip Griebel? Gnomes were originally created because Germanic lore mentions gnomes as the guardians of buried treasure. We don’t have any buried treasure at ThinkHaus (unless you count that box of Girl Scout Cookies hidden in the freezer), but we like to think that they indeed protect us and help spark creativity among our team.
